厚岸湾を一望、断壁上の尻羽岬

北海道東部、厚岸湾に突き出た海蝕崖が特徴的な岬。語源をアイヌ語、北海道によく見られる「シレ・パ」（地の頭の出ている岬）に持つ。ほぼ観光地化も為されておらず秘境然とした場所である一方、夏場の過ごし易い時期は地元の方々がピクニックに訪れている姿も見掛ける。

Cape Shiriba on the cliff, overlooking Atsukishi Bay

A cape with distinctive sea-eroded cliffs jutting out into Atsukishi Bay in eastern Hokkaido. The name comes from the Ainu word “shire-pa” (a cape with the head of the earth sticking out), which is commonly seen in Hokkaido. While it is an unexplored area that has not been turned into a tourist destination, it is a popular picnic spot for local residents during the pleasant summer months.
