Cape Scoton, Rebun Island, northernmost tip of Japan.

The northernmost point of Rebun Island and the northernmost cape in Japan, located on a cliff. The name is derived from the Ainu word “shikoton”, meaning “big valley”. The tip of the cape overlooks Sea lion Island, also known as Todo Island, where sea urchins from Rebun Island, known as a luxury food, are caught in the surrounding shallows.
