Cape Enlum with its “Pointed Head” and the scenery at the foot of Mount Apoi

A coastal landscape on the eastern shore of a fishing port in the town of Samani, Hidaka Region. Enrum” is an Ainu word meaning “pointed head”, and there are several capes with the same name in various parts of Hokkaido. When it is used as a place name, it generally refers to a cape. The cape has a high plateau from which a panoramic view of the coast, including Mount Apoi, can be seen. At low tide, mudflats appear on the south side of the cape, and when looking up from below, the jointed patterns in the rock veins can be seen.
