恵山は函館市の東方、渡島半島の端に位置する成層火山。火口原には観光道路が整備されていて、山頂までも車で登れる道南随一の景勝地。活火山としては比較的新しく、今も至る場所から噴気煙が上がる。その特殊な地形要件から、周辺一帯は年間を通して独特な景観を形成する。

Mount Megumi is a stratovolcano located on the edge of the Watari Peninsula, east of Hakodate City. It is one of the most scenic places in southern Hokkaido, with a tourist road running through the crater field and a car route up to the summit. It is relatively new for an active volcano, and fumarolic smoke still rises from many places. Due to its special geographical requirements, the surrounding area forms a unique landscape throughout the year.
