小樽銭函、海岸線の鉄路

北海道の中核都市、札幌から小樽・ニセコ方面へ向かう途上にある銭函地域。鮭漁やニシン漁で栄えた歴史に由来を持つ海岸風景。断壁下には現在もわずかな漁村が有り、その間を後志地域へ向かう鉄路が抜けていく。高台上には豊かな景観を望む住宅街が形成されている。

Otaru-zenibako, coastal railway line.

The Zenibako area is located on the way from Sapporo, the core city of Hokkaido, towards Otaru and Niseko. The coastal landscape has its origins in the prosperous history of salmon and herring fishing(Zenibako = Money box). There are still a few fishing villages below the sea wall, through which the railway line to the Goshi region passes. Residential areas with a rich landscape have been formed on higher ground.
